First Dental Care in Rasuwa Nepal
Kalika Community Hospital, the hospital that is sponsored by The Mountain Fund is getting a new addition to the ever-expanding array of medical services offered. A complete dental care system including chair, compressor, hand-piece and cleaning tools are in route and soon will be installed at the hospital. This is the first and only source for dental care in the entire district.
In just 18 months this hospital, with the support of The Mountain Fund donors has gone from a village clinic to a full-fledged district hospital with x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, out-patient services, emergency care, a pharmacy, an ambulance, 15 bed in-patient capacity, eye care, laboratory and birthing services. Now, for the first time the entire district has dental service. Over 45, 000 people no longer have to suffer with no dental care or make a long journey to see a dental technician.
If you'd like to help us continue to grow this vital health network for Rasuwa please consider a donation to support this project. The Mountain Fund's health network for Rasuwa now includes one remote clinic serving thousands of people from several villages, one 24/7 birthing center ideally located in one of the poorest parts of the district where risks associated with childbirth are the greatest and a full-service hospital that anchors the network and is accessible to the entire district. This is all done for less than $1.00 per person per year! All facilities are locally managed and staffed and supported in part by the communities where they are located. It's an inexpensive, sustainable health network for an entire district.
